This steel helmet is of Persian origin, Qajar period, second half of the 19 C. probably 1870 or about. The entire surface of the helmet is finely chiseled and inlaid with gold and silver koftgari work. Diameter 7 ½ inches, height 11 inches (helmet bottom to pike tip). Very good condition. Minor losses to the koftgari work and small areas of damage to the mail. Very reasonable price.
