Unusual Shamshir Sword, Afghanistan (??) - 8294

We are not sure as for the origin of this Shamshir sword, but is may be coming from Afghanistan, mid to late 19 C. The blade is heavy, deadly sharp, up curving and single edged without a back edge. It is multi - fullered and inlaid (real inlay) with gold colored metal decoration and maker mark (?) . The handle is hardwood inlaid with a mosaic of ebony and mother of pearl. Steel cross guard. Total length 38 inches. Good condition. Blackened spots on the blade. Several pitted spots on the cross guard. Few repairs on the handle. A good fighting sword.
