This huge horn is more than 15 inches long, 5 inches wide at the bottom with beautifully chased silver top and bottom covers and silver carrying ring. The chasing style and gods figures on the silver suggest an Indian origin, probably a copy of the European Master Horn containing powder for a whole military unit. An influence of the British military forces in India. Probably early 19 C. Very good condition. The top plug is missing. An absolutely unusual and interesting piece.
