From our private collection we offer for sale this fine and rather large Kindjal dagger. early 20 C. 1910 or around. Probably made in Degastan for a Mr. S. A. Djiykoev whose name is finely engraved in Kirilic letters on both the locket and chape rear side. The blade of flat diamond cross section is 17 ½ inches long. The handle is cut from a massive piece of walrus ivory, well polished and mounted with niello silver collar and two big silver rivet heads. Scabbard with dark red velvet cover ( recent) and niello silver locket and chape with the owner name. Total length 23 inches. Very good condition. Fine shining age patina on the hilt and silver parts.
