Very Long Flyssa Sword with Ivory Grips - 8269


The Flyssa is the traditional sword of the Kabil peoples from North Africa, residing in Algeir and North Morocco. It is characterized by the long tapering blade and brass decoration on the blade. Up for sale here is a rare version with a very long 35 inches blade, thick and heavy, with beautiful brass decoration on its entire length. The grips of this unusual exemplar are made of Ivory ( Most of the Flyssa will have a brass grips). Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Two forging flaws on the blade developed to a tiny cracks but the blade is very solid. No scabbard. A fine authentic and rear item.
