This is an early Yataghan sword and although not dated, this style of Yataghans is common to the mid to late 18 C. The blade is slightly down curving, 15 inches long, well made stamped with a maker. The handle and bolsters are silver with Niello design. The scabbard is wood with big silver locket and chape, finely chased. Total length 24 ½ inches. Very good condition. The rivet at the front end of the handle may indicate a late repair or handle replacement.
