Up for sale is this long knife, of ottoman origin and marking but possibly from the Balkan region, may be Greek. The long narrow blade is 10 ½ inches long, ¾ inches wide, filed on the spine. The handle is covered with silver and with forked pommel. The scabbard is covered with the original leather, with spiral stitched seam, silver locket and beautifully pierced silver tip. The locket is marked with the Tugrah of the Sultan on the throne. (Too worn to identify). Total length 17 ½ inches. Very good condition. Minor damage to the scabbard top. It may be that the blade had silver bolsters in the past which were removed long ago.
