This Indian Kard knife of superb Persian wootz blade is coming right out of our private collection. The blade is 9 inches long, single edge with a very narrow fuller just below the spine. The grips are ivory riveted to the blade tang with three rivets plated with gold and set with six red stones (not glass). The scabbard is recent, covered with red fabric and the scabbard tip is chased silver. Superb piece of wootz steel, probably 18 Century in very good condition. It was re-polished and re-etched to emphasize the blade quality and beauty and upgraded with the red stones at a later date. For the real lovers of wootz steel.
