This nice dagger is a North Indian Karud, a member of the family of the Pesh-Kabz and a Khybar Knife, but with a stright blade. The whole family of such daggers is common to India, Persia and several Central Asian countries. The blade is 8 3/4 inches long with T spine. The handle and scabbard mounts are gilded copper, beautifully chased with floral decoration. There is a nice original purple fabric cover on the scabard. Total length 16 inches. Some light pitting to the blade, the rest is in very good condition.
