19 C. Jamdhar Katari Dagger from North India - 8097


The Jamdhar Katari is of unusual form of a dagger in the Indian arsenal. It was popular in North West India in the 16 C. and on. This one is late 18 or early 19 C. Piece, very slightly curved blade 7 ½ Inches long. The blade is riveted to the whole steel handle with wide pommel nicely chiseled and a wide cross guard. This piece comes with its original steel scabbard and wood liners, opened in the back side. Very good condition. Total length (in scabbard) 13 Inches.
