Up for sale is this very fine Jambiya dagger from the Ottoman empire Balkan area. A fine blade, forged from fine Sham ( Turkish style wootz with low contrast pattern) 13 inches long. I shaped steel handle with extended cross guard and pommel ( Typical to the Balkan). The scabbard is wood, covered with its original velvet covering and mounted with beautifully worked filigree silver mounts set with turquoise and garnet stones. The central big Turquoise stone on the front face of the locket is engraved with Arabic letters. Total length 20 inches. Very good plus condition. One of the small turquoise stones is missing. A very fine piece.
