Turkish Composite Double Barrel Flintlock and Dagger - 8042


A rare piece, one of very few that were produced in Turkey in the 2nd half of the 19 C. A double barrel flintlock pistol with a butt shaped like a classical Turkish dagger and a concealed blade in it. Silver butt / handle. Rich gold koftgari decoration on the barrels, on the lock and on the dagger blade and typical Turkish silver inlay on the wood between the barrels. Deep blue enamling ? on the pommel top. 11 ½ inches blade, 11 inches barrels, 20 inches total length. Very good condition. Good black age patina on the barrels. Minor dents to the handle / butt. A very scarce piece. We have had several of this rare piece, see for example: 7890 , But this one is by far the best.
