From the Ache people of North Sumatra comes this nice Klewang sword, also known as Sikin Panjang. The blade is straight and single edge, 24 ½ inches long with a 16 inches long fuller just below the spine, most probably forged from laminated steel. The steel bolster is of polygonal shape. The hilt is beautifully carved from black horn in a typical forked pommel. Total length is 30 ½ inches. Very good condition, with a crack on the handle ( but holds very solid) and a minor chip to the pommel tip. No scabbard. Second half of the 19th C. Very Low Price.
