This fine Yataghan sword is coming from the collection of The Royal House of Hanover, Germany, Sold recently. The blade is 20 ½ inches long, forged from very fine pattern welded steel in the pattern known as Turkish Ribbon and marked with a maker mark. The grip strap and very long bolsters are engraved silver and the grips are dark horn. The scabbard is wood, covered with the original leather and mounted with very finely chased white metal mounts. Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. A fine and complete piece.
