This fine piece is also known as Tabarzine, or saddle axe. The heavy blade is 3 inches wide, 5 ½ inches tall, forged from very fine high contrast wootz steel. The steel handle is 24 inches long. Both the blade and the handle are very richly decorated with gold koftgari work. Very good plus condition. Very fine piece.
