Although not dated, we believe that this is an early Yataghan, mid to late 18 C. , of Turkish origin. The blade Is 22 inches long, inlaid with gold koftgari work of very fine calligraphy. The grips are walrus and grip strap is steel. This Yataghan comes with its original scabbard covered with leather and stitched with the correct spiral stitching. Total length 28 inches. Very good condition. All parts original without replacements or repairs. Only the grip strap lost part of its gold and it is partially rusted with moderate pitting.
