A very nice small RENTONG knife / dagger from Sumatra, mostly used by the Acehnese people from North West Sumatra (see Stone Glossary, fig. 106 number 4 page 85). The blade is 6 inches long down curving and single edged. The hilt is black horn sharply up-curving.. The scabbard is wood engraved with very delicate design. Very good condition. Good patina on the blade with few minor pitted spot. and a crack in the handle base but holds solid. A very nice piece from the second half of the 19th C attractive and decorative item. It is offered here at a very low price
