The Talibon sword is the main battle sword of the Christian tribes of northern Philippines. This example is mid 20 C. rather short, 14 ½ inches long blade, somewhat crudely forged. The wood handle and scabbard are finely carved hard wood, bound with braided rattan strips. Total length 20 inches. Very good condition. A small wood chip at the pommel corner and two of the rattan bands on the scabbard are missing.
