Up for sale is this Kindjal dagger, made by Zlatoust the famous Russian blade manufacturer and which was issued to the Kuban Cossack troops in the early 20 C. 12 inches blade, etched with the Zlatoust marking and the letters ZOF (In Cyrillic letters), standing for Zlatoust Weapon Factory and KKV (also in Cyrillic letters) standing for Kuban Cossack Army) . The blade is dated to 1902. Horn grips with white metal mounts. The scabbard is covered with red fabric and also mounted with white metal mounts with traces of Niello enameling. Total length 17 ½ inches. Good condition. A crack in the middle of the front grip, but it holds solid. Nicks and cracks on the metal mounts. Damaged scabbard tip.
