This ceremonial mace is of unusual big dimensions: 40 inches long (compared to the 28-30 inches of the more common ones). The massive bull head is hollow, 10X8 inches, with big steel ears and steel horns. The entire head as well as the shaft are elaborately chiseled with dense floral design and few hunting scene, partially painted gold. The design and workmanship suggest a Persian origin, Qajar style, mid 19 C. Very good condition. A rare and unusual item.
