Persian Qajar Carved Wood Spoon, C.1900 - 7952

Not a weapon but a very nice example of late Persian Qajar period decorative arts. A big spoon made of wood, and beautifully carved in a classical Qajar period. Late 19 C, probably 1900 or around. These spoons were used to drink fruit juice sold in the early morning on the streets of the bazaars and served from a big container. Length 11 ½ inches, height 3 inches. Very good condition. Very minor wood chips on the upper edge. |
