Good Massive Khaybar Sword - 5792


The Khaybar sword (Also Known as Salawar Yatagan) is the common side arm of the Afrids people residing in the area of the Khaybar pass between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is easily recognized by its straight blade, pronounce T spine cross section and tapering tip. This one has a short but heavy 15 ½ inches long 2 ¼ inches wide blade, inlaid with gold and silver koftgari decoration. The massive grips are of black horn with brass grip strap and bolsters. The scabbard is wood, covered with dark violet velvet and steel tip with traces of silver koftgari. Good condition. Slightly pitted and few blackened spots on the blade
