This Kard knife has the blade forged from very good high contrast Persian wootz ( Damascus) steel. The blade as well the bolsters and grip strap are very richly decorated with gold koftgary work. Walrus ivory grips. Wood scabbard covered with green dyed leather and mounted with beautifully worked pierced silver locket and chape. Blade length 8 inches. Total length ( in scabbard) 14 inches. Very good condition. Small pitted areas on the blade and blackened spots. The upper scabbard seam is open. This is a very fine piece, with mixed Persian (Blade and grips) and Indian (Gold and silver work) styles.
