Up for sale is this very fine Persian Qajar shield early 19 C. Whole steel, 18 inches in diameter with a brass strap around the perimeter, beautifully chiseled on its entire face with floral design and Arabic calligraphy. The design and inscriptions are further emphasized with good gold and silver koftgary inlay work. The inner side maintained its original fabric cover. Very good condition. Very little of the gold / silver work is lost. The inner hand cushion and straps are missing. A fine piece of very good workmanship.
