Very Good Sword of the Yaka - 5789

A very good and old Yaka sword. The Yaka people reside in the southern borders of Zaire, and they developed a sword of very typical shape. The blade (very well forged compared to most African blades on the market) is 17 inches long, of an elongated leaf shape, decorated dots punched into the blade steel. The grip is covered with animal hide decorated with brass tacks, and the pommel looks like a crown made from twisted brass wires with a long tubular pommel spike. No scabbard. Good plus condition, excellent blade patina but with few battle scars on the edges. |
