This Mandau sword of the head hunters from Kalimantan is rather an old and long one. The blade is 24 inches long, classical shape and convex / concave cross section . The handle is carved horn with good dark age patina. This sword comes with the original side compartment made from wood bark and covered with colored fabric. It also includes the side knife ahich is quite rare as most of the Mandaus on the mrket will come without it. Side knife blade is 5 inches. Total length 18 inches with the tip shaped like a styled crocodile. This sword also comes with its original belt made from fibers and covered with same colored fabric as the knife compartment and a piece of shell (??) used as an amulet is attached to the belt. Total length of sword in the scabbard is 31 inches. Good condition with several pitted spots on the blades which does not detract from the beauty and completeness of the sword.
