A dagger of high quality and decoration, of Turkish origin, most probably from East Turkey, with strong Kurdish / Iraqi influence. Late 19 Century. Superb 9 inches curved blade with a central rib forged from very good Wootz (Damascus) steel of very fine clear pattern. Black wood hilt. The scabbard is whole silver on wood, rich in filigree decoration of the utmost quality. Total length (in scabbard) 16 inches. Very good condition. Age crack on the wood hilt but it holds solid. A fine piece.
