Very Fine Indo-Persian Pesh Kabz Dagger - 7886


This superb dagger is a Pesh-Kabz , a member of the family of the Karud and a Khybar Knife, but with a re-curving blade. The whole family of such daggers is common to India, Persia and several Central Asian countries. The blade is forged from Extremely Fine wootz.(Damascus) steel, with very clear high contrast pattern, 9 inches long, heavy, with a pronounced T spine, reinforced edge and thickened armor piercing tip. The grips are of elephant ivory, the grip strap and bolsters are steel decorated with gold Koftgari work, now partially erased. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition Minor chip on the right grip. No scabbard. Very elegant blade shape. A piece of quality.
