Tegha / Tulwar Execution Sword - India - 7883

The name Tegha is usually referred to this type of swords, with heavy deeply curved wide blade, and are supposedly used as execution swords. This is a nice example, with a 29 inches blade, more than 2 inches wide and with an 11 inches false edge. The handle is steel, in the shape of an earlier Tulwar hilt, with a side semicircular hand guard and a D guard. The handle is covered with thin silver foil all around. This swords comes with its original scabbard covered with red fabric and steel tip. Total length 35 inches. Very good condition with minor blackened spots on the blade and age cracks in the scabbard, below the fabric cover. A very impressive sword.
