Parrying Shield from India - Sainti - 7854
This unusual and rare item is called Sainti and it is a kind of a parrying shield used by Indian warriors as from the 16 or 17 C. It is of Arab origin. It is of whole steel construction. The sidebars are 16 inches tip to tip and the blade is about 4 inches, decorated with a chiseled design. We believe this item to be from the 19 C. Very good condition.
