Up for sale is this early to mid 19C. Yataghan sword, probably from the Balkan areas of the Ottoman empire. 21 inches blade with two fullers along its spine, forged from laminated steel. Walrus ivory grips with gilded copper grip strap and bolsters, set with 6 round coral stones (one missing) and decorated with filigree work. Wood scabbard with its original leather cover and iron locket and chape. Very good condition. Minor damage to the top grip strap above the bolsters and few other small dents. Very attractive price.
