Up for sale is this rare and hard to find war axe of the Lwena people from southern Zaire / Angola. Their neighboring Chokwa people uses a similar war axe.. Fine thin blade reinforced with a shallow central rib and decorated with simple geometrical design, 6 inches long with a 5 inches edge. Wood haft with the typical finely carved rear protrusion decorated with brass tacks. Total length of haft 17 inches. Very good plus condition. Fine age patina on the blade and on the wood handle. A scarce item.
