A nice and complete war sword of the Lobala and may be the Nzombe tribes from central Zaire, probably mid 20 C. vintage. A big, spear shape blade, 15 inches long, almost 5 inches wide, with a central shallow rib. Wood handle bound with copper strip and pommel covered with brass mesh and mounted with brass tacks. Total length 19 ½ inches. Very good condition. The blade maintained its original beautiful coloring of black central area and white edges.
