Fine and Rare Sword of the Boa, Zaire - 7735

Up for sale is this fine and rare sword 1930-1940, of the Boa tribe ( also in use by their neighbors, the Angba and Bandia tribes from central Zaire. the 19 inches long double edge leaf shape blade is finely forged and chiseled. The wood handle is covered with brass strips. The wood scabbard (very very rare) is bound with some kind of rattan fibers. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Minor damage to the fibers binding at the scabbard tip. A fine and rare find of African weaponry / art. |
