Up for sale is this very Fine Koumaya Dagger from Morocco, with a classical blade, 9 ½ inches long, double edged at its lower half and single edged at the top. The handle is carved from a massive piece of Rhino horn with a very clear fibrous structure. The pommel head is chased silver and it is stamped in several place with a big silver proofmark, including the year of 1318 ( 1900 in the Gregorian calendar). The scabbrd is made from heavy silver, engraved in a classical Moroccan design. Total length 16 ½ inches. Very good condition. The horn grip has few small bugs holes which were filled and painted. The side of the pommel head is slightly damaged.
