Up for sale is this Turkish Jambiya dagger, with an old, late 17 or early 18 steel blade, forged from fine wootz ( Damascus steel), 10 inches long with a slender central rib. The top of the blade was decorated with gold koftgari work which is now mostly gone. The silver handle and scabbard are made of silver, chased in high relief, and partially gilded. A green stone ( glass ??) is set at the top of the pommel. The scabbard and handle are later to the blade, probably mid 19 C. Very good condition.
