Fine early 19 C. Persian Qajar Saber - 7708

This fine sword is estimated to be from the early 19 C. or earlier, from the early Qajar Period in Persia. The 30 inches curved blade with an 8 inches back edge is forged from very fine wootz, with very low contrast pattern hardly recognizable. It is decorated with finely etched panels with Arabic inscription and human figures in gold frames. The handle is whole steel, with down curving quillons with silver koftgari design. Very good condition of the blade. Some losses of the silver inlay on the handle. No scabbard. A fine sword of quality
