Up for sale is this very interesting and unusual Persian Jambiya dagger, late 19 C. Qajar period style and decoration. The curved blade is wootz (Damascus) with gold inlay 10 inches long. The figures 1894 on the gold inlay may very well be the date and it is given in the Gregorian calendar, the reason may be that it was made for trade to Europe. Both handle and scabbard are carved bone in the classical Qajar style, with silver locket and chape. Very good condition.
