An Execution Keris dagger / sword from Sumatra. This rare type of Keris was used to execute criminals. The long narrow blade was inserted above the collarbone of the sitting executed person and pushed down directly into the heart, causing instant death. The blade of this specific Keris has 20 inches blade, narrow but sturdy and with acute tip. The hilt is typical style grained wood with a brass mendak (the small metal ring/fitting below the hilt). The scabbard is wood. Total length 25 inches. Very Good condition Minor blackened spots on the blade. An age crack on the hilt ( but hold solid). All parts original. A good solid piece at a very reasonable price.
