Ottoman Court Dagger Dated 1867, Damascus Blade - 6721

This Fine dagger is also known as Ottoman Court Dagger. it was a side arm of the nobilities visiting the courts of the Ottoman empire in the 17 and 18 C. The blade is 11 inches long of flat diamond cross section, forged from fine pattern welded (Damascus) twisted steel. The blade is inlaid with gold koftgari Arabic inscriptions and dated 1284 (1857 in the Gregorian Calendar). The grips are horn. The scabbard is wood covered with leather Engraved silver locket and chape. Total length (in scabbard) 18 inches. Very good condition. |
