A very good Kindjal. 13 ½ inches blade with off-centered fuller. The hilt is of typical form; the tang is an integral extension of the blade and the grips are black horn riveted to the tang with three decorated silver rivets. The scabbard is wood covered with the original black leather and mounted with silver fittings nicely engraved and decorated with niello enamel and marked with the Russian silver hallmark ‘X84’. At the backside of the scabbard there is a compartment for a small by-knife, which is now missing. There are minor pitted spots at the blade tip and a minor damage to the leather at the scabbard back but otherwise all is in very good plus condition. All parts are old and original, no restored or replaced parts.
