Fakir Crutch Dagger, India 19 C. - 7573

Indian Fakirs were not allowed to carry weapons. Instead they were carrying short crutches, almost always containing a concealed blade. Here is a classical example, mid 19 C. whole steel, shaped like a walking stick, 24 Inches long, with a concealed 18 ½ inches long blade. The blade is locked in the stick with a sird shaped steel safety catch. Traces of silver Koftgari decoration. Handle tips styled like monster heads. Very good condition.
