Fakir Crutch Dagger, India 19 C. - 7574

Indian Fakirs were not allowed to carry weapons. Instead they were carrying short crutches, almost always containing a concealed blade. Here is a classical example, mid 19 C. whole steel, 23 Inches long, made of faceted and spiral sectors and decorated with silver Koftgari. Handle with a tip in a styled monster mouth. This crutch contains a 9 ½ inches concealed square blade. Very good condition. The haft welding seam is opened in few places but hold very solid. The blade is a recent addition to replace an old lost blade.
