Good Execution Keris Sword - Sumatra - 7614


An Execution Keris dagger / sword from Sumatra. This rare type of Keris was used to execute criminals. The long narrow blade was inserted above the collarbone of the sitting executed person and pushed down directly into the heart, causing instant death. The blade of this specific Keris is 21 ½ inches, narrow but sturdy and with acute tip. The hilt is typical style grained wood with a brass mendak (the small metal ring/fitting below the hilt). The scabbard is wood bound with rings. Total length 26 ½ inches. Very Good condition All parts original. A good solid piece at a very reasonable price.
