Up for sale is this very good fighting sword of the Moro people from Mindanao the Philippines. A long, straight and deadly sharp 25 inches blade, laminated steel forged between hardened high Carbon steel edges. Thick and heavy Ganja. Wood hilt with large Cockatoo shaped pommel carved from beautiful grained wood. The grip is covered with braided rattan bands and set with a silver collar and silver top band. One silver clamp (Baca-Baca) is securing the handle to the blade. Wood scabbard bound with a leather strip and several braided rattan bands. Total length 30 inches. Very good condition. Perfect fitting of the blade to the scabbard. All parts original. Minor black spots on the blade. Some damage and losses to the grip binding. Two of the binding bands on the scabbard are missing. A very good real fighting sword.
