This is a good example of the knife from the island of Crete in the Mediterranean. The almost 7 inches single edge blade, typically filed on its spine and engraved with a typical design. Bone grips widening toward the pommel in a form of split ears. The bolster are pewter covered with silver/ white metal? and the grip strap is engraved silver. there is a small strip of horn between the ears and the silver starp. Nice engraved silver scabbard. The blade has also two letters engraved and the date 1946. We believe the dagger is erlier cira 1900. Very good condition. The tip of the scabbard is slightly bent. Total length almost 12 inches.
