This is a very early type of a short battle axe from Central India which was used by the aboriginal Indian people from as early as the 16 C and up to the 19 C. The broad, 7 X 5 inches blade is mounted through its socket on a short haft, 13 inches long. Very good condition. Excellent shining age patina on the steel. Minor forging flaw on the blade. Very rare version of the big variety of Indian battle axes.
