This Saif is a rare version of Arab sword from the South Arabian Peninsula. This is a fine heavy sword, with a 30 1/2 inches long 1 1/2 inches wide, single edge blade with a 7 inches back edge. It has a beautifully decorated silver hilt and cross guard of a typical form reminding in a way the hilt of the Moroccan Nimcha sword. The scabbard is wood covered with the original black leather and has two silver mounts with two belt attachment rings. Total length 37 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor tiny losses to the leather. All part are authentic and original, without any repairs, alterations or restorations. A very fine piece.
