Very Fine Execution Keris Sword Sumatra - 7391

An Execution Keris dagger / sword from Sumatra. This rare type of Keris was used to execute criminals. The long narrow blade was inserted above the collarbone of the sitting executed person and pushed down directly into the heart, causing instant death. The blade of this specific Keris is 20 ½ inches, narrow but thick and sturdy, clear pamor structure. The hilt is beautifully carved hard wood in a styled human figure. The mendak (the small metal ring/fitting below the hilt) is silver. The scabbard is high polish grained wood with a Hippo ivory tip. Total length ( in scabbard) 27 inches. Very Good condition. Long lines on the blades which might be forging flaws. Perfect fitting of blade to scabbard. 2 mm of the tip of the scabbard top is chipped and the other one cracked (hardly noticed). All original authentic item. No replacements or additions.
