From our private collection we offer for sale this beautiful Turkish Jambiya Dagger. It is probably of East Turkey origin, with strong Kurdish Iraqi influence. Good double edged wootz blade with narrow central rib, of typical Turkish style, 9 ½ inches long. I shaped hilt carved from a massive single piece of walrus ivory, 6 inches long. White metal scabbard chased and ornamented in a classical Turkish style. Very good condition. The hilt is slightly distorted due to different rate of shrink of the inner core and the outer envelope of the walrus tusk. The tip of the scabbard is repaired.
